At an early age, we begin sending our children to school Monday through Friday. We trust these institutions to teach them vocabulary, reading and math skills. But, have you ever stopped to wonder what sounds your children are being exposed to and whether or not those sounds can be detrimental to their hearing health?

With so many sounds going on around us every day, we’ve taken a moment to show you some common sounds children might hear during their school day, and have identified which ones we should be watching out for. With a little education around these everyday sounds, we can better prevent hearing loss in the generations to come.

While it might be difficult to avoid the sounds of school, certain sounds can be dangerous if precautions are not taken. Precautions include plugging your ears as you pass by an activated fire alarm and avoiding standing under the classroom bell or next to the fire alarms.
