“When the children come in for follow up, they tell me that they are doing better at school. They are socializing more. Their lives have been enhanced through feeling accepted and being mainstreamed into school and with their peers.”

Laura sees the impact that receiving hearing aids in everyday life. “Some of the teens have gotten part-time jobs. Other are enjoying music for the first time,” she says. “I feel really proud to be part of an organization that not only helps children, but also helps seniors in need.”

The Gift of Sound program helps the whole family, “The parents are very thankful. Many of them have been baffled by their children’s hearing loss. They find relief coming to me and being helped through the Foundation and getting a great hearing aid.  One story that stands out for me is a family of five children, and all of them had hearing loss. The mother was beyond blessed to have the Foundation pay for all the children’s hearing aids. That family will always be a part of me,” says Laura.

The Miracle-Ear Foundation is important to me. I feel really proud to be part of an organization that not only helps children, but also helps seniors in need.

A franchise owner herself, Laura believes the Miracle-Ear Foundation is a great benefit to franchisees. "Miracle-Ear® is more than just a hearing aid company that sells hearing aids. We are here to help children and seniors who can’t afford hearing aids. Franchisees who work with the Foundation really enhance lives."
