The Miracle-Ear Foundation helps fit hearing aids on those who might not otherwise be able to accomodate their hearing loss

Helping Our Communities Hear

Page Content

Today, more than 7 million Americans who need hearing aids cannot afford them. At Miracle-Ear®, we want to do everything we can to help. Our goal is to double the number of hearing aids we donate to children and adults in communities across the United States.

The Miracle-Ear Foundation™ is designed to support underserved Americans with a limited income and no other resources for hearing aids, such as insurance, Medicaid, VA, or other state or federal programs.

Hearing Loss is Hardest on Kids

The first few years of a child’s life are the most important in his or her development, according to experts. That’s why hearing loss in young children can have such far-reaching effects. Undetected hearing loss can delay speech and language, affecting social and emotional growth as well as academic achievement. Hearing loss has a profound effect on each child’s family and society as a whole.

The Miracle-Ear Foundation is working to ensure that kids who need hearing aids receive them. You can help.

Adult Hearing Loss is Growing Younger

Hearing loss is "growing younger" in America. Recent studies show that hearing loss can profoundly affect people's lives, leading to lower earning potential and social isolation.

A study by Johns Hopkins and the National Institute on Aging proves that there’s a causal link between untreated hearing loss and cognitive dysfunction. For each 10-decibel loss in hearing, the risk of dementia rose by about 20 percent.

Hearing loss lowers the quality of life for adults of any age. In addition to diminished enjoyment of music and other ambient sound, adults with hearing loss typically have difficulty understanding conversation, resulting in social isolation and depression. There is also a growing body of evidence showing that, among individuals with hearing loss, those who don’t wear hearing instruments actually earn less than those who do.

The Miracle-Ear Foundation is working to ensure that adults, who need hearing aids and cannot afford them, receive the support they need. You can help.
