Bertha Walker Receives the Gift of Sound™

Miracle-Ear® of McKinney, TX has partnered with the Miracle-Ear Foundation to provide 77-year old Bertha Walker the Gift of Sound™.

Bertha lives in Princeton, TX and came to the Miracle-Ear in McKinney for a free hearing evaluation. Bertha started to notice her hearing loss was getting worse several years ago because it seemed that people were always whispering or mumbling. She often misunderstands words and struggles to hear the television. She had never been evaluated, as she knew that hearing aids can be costly and lives on a limited income.  Bertha came in for her evaluation, thinking she could not afford the hearing aids she needs, but Miracle-Ear in McKinney told her about the Miracle-Ear Foundation. She was excited to get approved right before Christmas! She and her family are very thankful and excited about this gift of sound.

Now that Miracle-Ear of McKinney supports the Miracle-Ear Foundation, McKinney residents who suffer from hearing loss and do not have the means to fund hearing healthcare, can apply for free hearing instruments. If approved, the staff will volunteer their time to provide regular follow-up care.

“We’re proud to support better hearing in our community,” said owner Pat Curry. “When given the chance to improve lives through the gift of sound, we want to ensure every McKinney resident has the opportunity.”
