What does a Miracle-Ear hearing test involve?

You may be wondering what an evaluation involves. It's a simple, respectful process designed to give you all the information you need, without any pressure. A Miracle-Ear hearing test is a comprehensive, three-step, risk-free evaluation. It includes a personalized consultation, a thorough sound assessment, and the creation of a tailored hearing care plan, all performed by our compassionate hearing care professionals.

To fully understand your hearing, we assess it in four key parts:
  • Your hearing health history: Your appointment starts with a conversation about your hearing history, lifestyle, and any concerns you may have.
  • Ear canal inspection: Then, your hearing care professional will look inside your ear canal using a video otoscope. This is to check for common problems such as excessive wax buildup, damage to the eardrum or other conditions which may make it difficult to hear clearly.
  • Hearing threshold test: This test determines the softest sounds you can hear at different frequencies. It determines your degree of hearing loss, known as your hearing threshold.
  • Speech discrimination test: This test measures your ability to hear and understand speech in different noise environments.

Free Comprehensive Hearing Test: Our hearing evaluation and video otoscopic inspection are always free. A hearing evaluation is an audiometric test to determine proper amplification needs only. These are not medical exams or diagnoses nor are they intended to replace a physician's care. If you suspect a medical problem, please seek treatment from your doctor.

Free Lifetime of Service: Cleanings and in-office service for hearing aids are always free. Miracle-Ear® lifetime service not included with hearing aids purchased utilizing some insurance benefits. See store for details.

Hearing aids do not restore natural hearing. Individual experiences vary depending on severity of hearing loss, accuracy of evaluation, proper fit and ability to adapt to amplification.
