Rick Knipe, HTP-1249

Professional Experience

Rick is Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and is also licensed as a Hearing Aid Specialist by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. He has been through extensive training with Miracle-Ear and has received his Miracle-Ear Professional Certification. He has also been trained in Live Speech Mapping, Real Ear Measurement, deep canal impressions, and is proficient with all Audiometric equipment to service your needs.
Rick started in the hearing healthcare field in 1991. He grew up in Pittsburgh and previously owned and operated five stores located in central Pennsylvania before relocating to South Carolina. Rick has been an active member of the International Hearing Society since 1993, received his National Board Certification in 1995, and became an Audioprosthologist in 2000. He is dedicated to helping people with hearing care and improving their quality of life.
In his free time, Rick enjoys fishing, hunting, drag racing, and spending time with his friends and family.

Hearing loss can happen to anyone. Today, more than 48 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss. There are three types of hearing loss: sensorineural, conductive and mixed hearing loss. While many elements can contribute to hearing loss, age and exposure to loud noise are the two most common. Signs of hearing loss include turning the TV volume up, difficulty hearing on the phone or asking people to repeat themselves. Luckily, hearing aids are a great treatment option for many.

Tinnitus

Do you hear buzzing, humming or ringing in the ears? You’re not alone. Nearly 10 to 15 percent of American adults have tinnitus. While most people experience moments or brief periods of hearing ringing in the ears at some time in their lives, some people experience tinnitus more regularly. Our custom-fit hearing aids are molded to fit each person’s unique ear shape. Your hearing instrument specialist will take a mold of your ear while you're in the office. This is quick and painless! It will then get sent to the manufacturer, where your hearing aid will be created just for you. Custom-fit hearing aids are extremely comfortable, discreet and provide very natural sound quality.
