Miracle-Ear of Spring Hill, FL, in partnership with the Miracle-Ear Foundation, is proud to share that local resident Ernesto Machado has been given the Gift of Sound.
Ernesto was struggling to understand his family during conversations. At home, Ernesto’s wife Karen and their children would get frustrated because they always had to repeat themselves and speak louder than normal. Ernesto’s hearing loss had become a strain on his personal life.
However, hearing aids were beyond his family‘s budget. The office called him and suggested he connect with the Miracle-Ear Foundation, which provides hearing aid solutions free of cost to children and adults who cannot afford their hearing healthcare. Spring Hill Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Specialist Michael Cornuta helped Ernesto with his application and submitted it to the Foundation. Upon approval, Ernesto was fit with donated hearing aids and will have lifetime service for his devices.
The Miracle-Ear Foundation, a Minneapolis-based non-profit organization, supports underserved adults and children with their hearing healthcare needs. Working with Miracle-Ear hearing aid centers across the country, the Foundation has donated more than 16,000 hearing aids to over 9,100 individuals nationwide, including the aids donated to Ernesto Machado.
“We know that hearing loss lowers the quality of life for adults at any age,” said Darren Thorsen, Miracle-Ear Tampa franchise VP. “When hearing loss goes undetected, it can lead to social isolation, strained relationships, and can even impact earning potential. That is why the staff at all of our Miracle-Ear locations are happy to donate resources and time to enhance the lives of others.”
The local Miracle-Ear franchise has supported adults and children in Spring Hill for many years, providing several hearing aids to those in need. “We’re proud to support better hearing in our community,” said Thorsen. “When given the chance to improve lives through the Gift of Sound, we want to ensure every Spring Hill resident has the opportunity.”
That’s when he decided to get his hearing checked at his local Miracle-Ear hearing aid center. The hearing test confirmed Ernesto had a hearing loss in both ears and hearing aids were a viable solution.
Since 1990, the Miracle-Ear Foundation®, together with our donors, has donated over 16,000 hearing aids to more than 9,000 individuals nationwide. We do this because we believe everyone should have the ability to hear a better day.
Miracle-Ear has a commitment to our community and to the hearing health of those in need nationwide. With every hearing aid sold, we make a financial commitment to help someone in need.
