Bone conduction testing
A small vibrating device is placed against the mastoid bone behind the ear to reveal any problems in the inner ear.
Pure tone testing
A machine emits tones at different frequencies and then measures the softest tones you can hear. 
Speech testing
You'll listen to words spoken at different volumes and then be asked to repeat what you hear.
