This is a question we hear fairly often, and I completely understand why. As the old saying goes, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” But there are a lot of reasons to visit your Miracle-Ear provider for an annual hearing test.
During your audiometry test, your Miracle-Ear provider uses ultra-sensitive testing equipment that can detect even the smallest changes in your hearing. In many cases, the hearing aids can be reprogrammed to meet your current needs—so you’re assured of always hearing your very best. They will also inspect your ear canals for excess wax that could interfere with your hearing. Small changes in hearing can also alert your hearing care providers of subtle health changes and the need for medical follow-up.
Your annual appointment includes a hearing aid cleaning and checkup. Perspiration, dirt, earwax, and other substances can damage today’s advanced electronics. A professional cleaning helps neutralize these enemies of the hearing aid. If your hearing aids are under warranty, your provider can also take care of any covered repairs.
