Charla's Miracle-Ear Foundation Story

Published on Aug, 05, 2021

Charla, a local resident of Williamsport, has been struggling with hearing loss for many years. She often felt embarrassed having to constantly ask people to repeat themselves because she was misunderstanding their words. This made communicating with important people in her life extremely difficult for Charla. Even daily activities such as watching TV was difficult because the volume was uncomfortably loud. That is when Charla decided to reach out to Miracle-Ear in Williamsport, PA.

Lesa, a Miracle-Ear Hearing Specialist, tested Charla and confirmed her need for hearing aids. Despite the need, they quickly determed the cost was out of Charla's reach. Lesa suggested that she apply for assistance from the Miracle-Ear Foundation. Charla was approved and fitted with donated hearing aids as well as the benefit of life-time aftercare.

Charla is thrilled to be one of nearly 16,000 recipients of donated hearing aids. She says everything is clear and loves being able to hear the world and people around her again. Charla is even able to turn the TV volume down while understanding what is being said. She is so grateful for the help Lesa and the Miracle-Ear Foundation has given her through the Gift of Sound.
