Miracle-Ear Franchise Owner Julie McKelvey Climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro to Give the Gift of Sound to People in Need
The Miracle-Ear Foundation® is proud to announce that Julie McKelvey, a Miracle-Ear Franchise owner with 33 offices across Pennsylvania, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, to raise money to help underprivileged children & adults with hearing loss receive free hearing aids through the Miracle-Ear Foundation.
Her successful summit of the tallest free-standing mountain in the world sitting at 19,341 feet was accomplished on August 19, 2018 dedicating her efforts as the Summit for Sound. Julie has been actively supporting the Miracle-Ear Foundation since 1993, giving the Gift of Sound to those in need and now serves as a member of the Board of this nonprofit organization.
Julie’s impressive and selfless efforts resulted in more than $56,045 raised for the charity to give the Gift of Sound. “This was the most difficult thing I have ever done and also the most rewarding - truly a life changing experience with a lot of money and awareness raised for the Miracle-Ear Foundation, which is so close to my heart’” says Julie.
At Miracle-Ear®, we want to do everything we can to help those in our community who need hearing healthcare but cannot afford treatment. The Miracle-Ear Foundation® is designed to support underserved Americans with a limited income and no other resources for hearing aids, such as insurance, Medicaid, VA, or other state or federal programs.
